Southampton cruise parking

Port parking and parking with a transfer

Cruise parking in Southampton includes parking within the port and parking at the airport with a taxi transfer. The useful comparison is where the car stays, how you reach the ship and how you collect it after the cruise.

Parking for a cruise or a city visit?

A short visit to Southampton and a vehicle left for the length of a cruise need different arrangements. For a city stay, check the hotel’s parking or the chosen car park’s permitted stay. For a cruise, use a reservation covering the whole period between arrival and collection.

Your parking arrival point may be the terminal, a handover area or a car park away from the docks. Put that location into your route plan. The cruise port page explains the terminal names, while getting here covers the approach to Southampton.

ABParking at the port

ABParking offers parking within the port. Use the ABParking booking search for your ship and sailing, then follow the arrival instructions on the reservation.

Do not choose a car park solely from a cruise line’s usual terminal. The relevant questions are whether your sailing is available, where the reservation tells you to arrive and how you reach the passenger entrance from there. Keep the parking confirmation with your cruise documents so that the driver follows the booked arrangement.

CPS cruise parking

Cruise and Passenger Services Ltd, usually shortened to CPS, parks vehicles within the Port of Southampton. Its booking form asks for the cruise operator, ship and cruise before producing a quote. That identifies the sailing more precisely than choosing a generic Southampton parking product.

Use the handover and collection instructions supplied for that reservation. Compare whether you leave the keys and where the car is collected after the cruise; the name “port parking” alone does not describe that process. If your cruise includes a parking benefit, establish the redemption procedure with the cruise line before making a separate booking.

Airport parking with a cruise transfer

Southampton Airport sells a distinct Cruise Parking product at its Long Stay Car Park. Arrival is at Zone 1, where staff show you where to park. The product includes private taxi transfers to and from the cruise terminals, with Radio Taxis arranging the return pick-up.

This leaves your car at the airport rather than beside the ship. Allow time for parking, meeting the taxi and travelling to the terminal. Use the airport cruise-parking page for the product and its arrival instructions. An ordinary flight-parking reservation is a different choice, so select the cruise product if you need its transfer.

Off-site parking and hotel packages

Parking away from the port can involve a shuttle or a private transfer. Compare the place where the vehicle actually remains, the handover point, whether keys are retained and the capacity for your party and bags. For collection, establish whether transport waits at a fixed time or is requested after you leave the ship.

A hotel stay with parking may be useful when arriving the day before. Compare the number of parking nights with the full cruise and check which transfer is included. A room with overnight parking does not necessarily cover leaving the car during the sailing.

Choosing and booking your parking

Have the ship, sailing dates and terminal information ready. Enter the vehicle details accurately, including anything that affects its size, and ask about equipment or luggage that needs extra transfer space.

Check the return date as carefully as the departure date and read the amendment and cancellation terms for the chosen product. If your cruise documents later name a different terminal, contact the parking provider about the arrival or collection arrangement. The airport page covers travel through Southampton Airport; it is separate from the decision to leave a car there during a cruise.
